At Alli B + CO, we commonly use the smooth PDO MAX Threads. We’ll evaluate your skin before treatment and determine if smooth threads are efficient or if you’ll get better results from barbed threads. These threads tighten sagging skin tissue. They’re placed in the subcutaneous layer of the skin and are FDA approved. Once inserted within the skin, it will reveal a fuller, rejuvenated appearance.

A thread lift treats sagging areas near your cheeks, jaw, neck, and eyes.
The complete improvements to skin firmness and rejuvenation will be seen three to four weeks after treatment.
The threads are entirely absorbed by the body six months after the procedure.
TREATMENT EXPECTATIONS:
  • It can take three weeks for bruising and swelling to subside and to appreciate your PDO Thread Lift fully
  • It is ideal to schedule this procedure at LEAST 3 weeks before a significant event (wedding, photoshoot, etc.)

2 WEEKS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:
  • Avoid dental procedures (including dental cleanings)

1 WEEK BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:
  • Avoid taking aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAID) drugs such as Ibuprofen, Advil, Aleve, Motrin, Celebrex, Ginko Biloba, St. John’s Wort, or high doses of Vitamin E as these medications and vitamins may increase your risk of bleeding and/or bruising to the treated area(s)
    • Multi-vitamins and Tylenol are permitted
  • Consider taking Arnica Montana natural supplement to help with bruising
    • You can take five tablets three times a day starting one week before your appointment
  • Please inform your provider if you have any history of Herpes Simplex (cold sores) on your face or lips. We can prescribe you a medication to prevent an outbreak.

24 HOURS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:
  • Avoid alcoholic beverages as this can increase your risk for bleeding and/or bruising to the treated area(s)

1 HOUR BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:
  • Take Tylenol (if not contraindicated) if you have concerns about discomfort
  • Ensure that your face (or other treatment areas) are clean and free of makeup
  • Eat a small meal or snack before your appointment

AT YOUR APPOINTMENT:
  • Inform your provider of your current medical history, all medications or supplements you have been taking, and if you are pregnant or breast-feeding
FOR 24 HOURS AFTER TREATMENT:
  • Avoid rubbing, touching, or massaging the treated area(s) and entry points
  • Avoid heavy exercise, increasing your heart rate, or sweating
  • Avoid alcoholic beverages
  • Avoid laying on or sleeping on the treated area(s) to decrease the risk of movement of threads.
  • Avoid skincare products and makeup.
  • You may apply a cool compress to help with discomfort and to help reduce swelling.

FOR UP TO 2 WEEKS AFTER TREATMENT:
  • Avoid facial treatments such as facials, microdermabrasion, etc.

FOR UP TO 4 WEEKS AFTER TREATMENT:
  • Avoid making exaggerated facial expressions, prolonged chewing, and wide yawning.
  • Avoid dental work (including cleanings) and dental procedures.

DO:
  • Call our office if you have treads that are poking out from the skin
  • Call our office if you develop new or worsening swelling, redness, warmth, or drainage from the entry point(s)
  • Make a follow-up appointment
